Dr. John Langan, President, CEO
Dr. Langan, President of Computational Sensors Corp., founded the corporation in 1999 to develop a new class of thin film analog processors based on spatio-temporal signal processing and biologically inspired motion energy filtering using analog and digital VLSI technologies.
Dr. Langan brings over 30 years of experience in semiconductor device physics, with specific concentration in infrared compound semiconductors. He has extensive experience in the original development and manufacture of staring infrared sensor technology for both InSb and HgCdTe detector systems used in tactical, strategic and remote sensing systems as well as for commercial applications. He is an expert in general materials research, infrared sensor surface passivation technology, IR technology, spatial frequency signal processing filtering techniques and military EO systems design.
In addition to Computational Sensors Corp., Dr. Langan also founded Superconductor Technologies Inc. and initiated the first smart infrared array-using analog VLSI resistive grid technology as well as the use of resistive polymers as implemented by Uniax Corporation. Dr. Langan received his PhD in Physics from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
